About me

Hi, my name’s Steve Elliott and I’m a timber framer and an engineer. A few years ago, I developed a passion for traditional timber framing and since then I’ve been on a mission to learn about the craft and put into practice the skills to design, cut and raise as many beautiful and interesting frames as I can!

I started out my career in engineering about 15 years ago working on superyachts, since then I have worked in Formula 1, high end automotive and of course more recently as a timber framer! I am still at the beginning of my timber framing career relative to my engineering experience, but I have worked at a professional framing workshop and gained great working knowledge of the modern day applications of the historic craft which goes right back to the medieval period (and beyond!).

At this time, I am looking for small to medium scale projects from design to fabrication & raising. My passion is for the structural framework and due to mostly working on my own I can only offer the frame as part of any project (depending on scale this can be discussed).

I really do enjoy challenging and unique joinery (probably because of the engineering project background) so if you have an unusual or very creative project in mind, then please get in touch so we can discuss what I can offer for you.

I am a member of the Carpenters Fellowship which is a great organisation setup and run by England's most knowledgeable timber framers They provide specialised training and support to the craft, promoting good industry practice and sharing knowledge which has been passed down for centuries!

Based in the heart of England in Warwickshire, I prefer to work within an hours radius but I am open to discussing projects further afield.
